Comunicazione dei MEDIA Desk Berlino-Brandeburgo e Polonia

Dear Madam or Sir,

From 2014 on the New Creative Europe Programme will have a stronger focus on film literacy and provide a new funding scheme for the support of transnational European initiatives. Even though we don’t know the details yet, the support mechanisms will target cross border projects for the exchange of best practices as well as projects that facilitate access for young audiences to European content in and outside schools.

Recently the BFI has published an excellent report on Film Literacy in Europe, giving an in depth analysis of the very distinct situation in the member states. To complement this report our aim is to provide an overview of existing initiatives and different activities across the Member States, asking for potential cooperational projects as well. An ideal outcome would be that collaborations will be set up and even apply for European support under Creative Europe.
The Film Literacy Meeting in Warsaw would be a good opportunity for first contacts and exchange. A conference in Erfurt, Germany will follow in June 2014, organized by KIDS Regio, an initiative of the Cine-Regio members.

We very much appreciate your support.

Yours sincerely,

Susanne Schmitt (MEDIA Antenna Berlin-Brandenburg)
Joanna Wendorff (MEDIA Desk Poland)
